Will it work??
I found a 68 BB Hood from a convertible I need to know if this would be a direct replacement?? are the 2 years the same?? or would any old BB hood work from 68-72??
Re: will a 68 BB hood work on be correct for my 69
All BB/LT-1 hoods from 69-72 LOOK the same but, and you've heard this before, the '68 hood is a little unique. The hood support rod bolts to a different location on the hood rail (it's still on the driver side of the hood but the bolt location for the bracket is about four inches higher on the side rail) and the passenger side latch bolt pattern is different.
To use the '68 hood on a later car, you would need a '68 support since the '69 and later support would be too short. Or you could drill and use nutserts to put the support bracket in a lower position. You would also want the '68 latch but you can make a later latch work O.K.
