I'm looking to change the plug wires in my '72 LT-1. Taking a look at the ingnition shielding, it looks like I may be missing a few pieces and or nuts. It also looks like its going to be a lot of work. Is there any resource that documents all the components/pieces of the ignition shielding and how to run the wires through it? Pictures would be very helpful!

A 1972 Assembly Manual would have this information and much more and is a must for a Corvette owner. The NCRS store has many useful books.Lyle

1972 LT-1s did not have the radio interference ignition shields for the forward plugs on either side. So, if these are the shields that you think are "missing", they were "missing" from day-one.
1972 LT-1s DID have the spark plug HEAT shields at all 4 sets of cylinders, though.
The radio interference ignition shields that you should have are as follows:
lower shields each side of block ("V" shaped shields)
outer shields over each REAR set of plugs
vertical shields from distributor cover to outer rear shields ("L" shaped)
distributor cover (1 piece for 1972)In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

You will not get the AIM free but you can buy it at the NCRS store at this site. Under restoration look for 1956-82 Corvette Factory Assembly Instruction Manuals (AIM Manual).Lyle
