C2 gas door refinish

First I want to thank all for their very helpful responses to my sometimes stupid questions.Please keep in mind - I'm a Hoosier- I'm over 50-I have a summer job and -It's WINTER.
I'd like to repaint the crossed flags on the gas door of my 67',they look as though they have the original paint but has the old "crackled" look. Could I get some suggestions on what to use to remove the old and secondly is the dark red and white paint still used and possibly at the local Chevy dealer?

I have had good luck with Testor's model paint and a small brush.

Thanks Frank..I think I'll try it myself but do you recall what color names or numbers you used? Possibly another stupid question, does Testers come in semi-gloss/gloss?

I don't recall the colors but it comes in just about about every shade and both flat and gloss.
