    C 1

OUT OF NOWHERE, MY 62 BEGAN DOING SOMETHING STRANGE. WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKES THE FUEL GUAGE ADVANCES APPROX 1/8 TOWARDS "FULL". IT EVEN DOES THIS WHEN I AM COMPLETELY STOPPED. I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START, ELECTRICAL OR MECHANICAL. ANY IDEAS OUT THERE? IT IS A 5 YEAR FULL RESTO CAR.

Common problem. Lousy ground at the sending unit. The archives will have lots of info on this. Fix is to run an additional ground from the sending unit to the frame.

This is so common that it probably should

be included as "REQUIRED" under the "as it was delivered" operations check.

I am surprised it doesn't also do it when you turn on the signal lamps. Like mentioned, add a ground from the sender flange to an inconspicious place on the frame.
