    #263 EMBOSSED TI COIL

    I have decided to give up looking for an original #263 Embossed TI coil, partly because they are so rare and partly because as old as an original would be I am concerned about its' performance. I saw that "Crane's Corvettes", in San Diego, is selling a repro, embossed #263 and was wondering if anyone has installed one of these and can tell me if they are satisfied with the performance.

      If coil has been properly stored (not dropped, set upsidedown for years), the shelf life is almost indefinite.

          I agree with Jack. Original coils will last a long time if properly taken care of. On the other hand I would be very skeptical of any reproduced/rebuilt/resleeved coil as I don't believe a Delco style liquid coil can be rebuilt to original specifications, and a resleeved coil is any old coil with a 263 sleeve. Your car is especially sensitive as it is a TI car and they need the exact original coil specifications to run properly.

              To answer to your question I have also looked and looked for a #263 TI Coil. Finally bought two from Crane's. They work great and look as good as they work. I have had no problems. I would buy more.
