How would a person go about finding the current owner of a 64 Vette? I have the engine for a 64 327/ 365hp 4 speed car. By the way, he (she) has the engine for my 67 Vette in their car.

Re: looking for the owner
Dan -- At least put an ad in the DRIVELINE; that's how I found the current owner of the '67 that had a rear end differential swap back in 1980 with my '65. Luckily, he was a NCRS member, but in your case, you probably know the VIN of the '64.
Also, there other Corvette forums out there that post this sort of info.- Top

Re: looking for the owner
Thanks Wayne,
First off, what and where is "Driveline." Yes I know the "Serial Number" for the car. As I have had it explained to me, there are programs out there that can find cars by VIN numbers but not ones with Serial Numbers. I couldn't quite understand the difference, but that's what I was told. The last person that I knew owned the car was Bob McDorman as the car was in his collection. I approched him last year at his show, explaining that I had the origional engine for the car, but he stated that he had sold the car.- Top

Re: looking for the owner
Dan --- The DRIVELINE is this NCRS organization's bi-monthly newsletter, and there's a section called "Information Wanted" where many post such requests as yours.
Re serial #; sorry, an old habit -- I should have refered to it as VIN # (or more correctly on the motor case, VIN derivative). I'm not aware of any program in cyberland that can find cars by VIN #, though. Try posting on the "Owner Search Message Board" at www.yl-gazette.com, click [past owner search].
Still, your best bet is to put more pressure on Bob McDorman; offer some compensation for his efforts.- Top
