Good morning all. I'm preparing to reinstall my heads on my 67 427/435 and was wondering what those "in the know" recommend for intake and head gaskets. As always, thanks in advance for your input.

Re: I'll 3rd That
Gary - I third it. I just got some for my 66 425 I am building up. Use their performance series line, the head gaskets have a stainless or copper wire rolled into a crushable liner around the cyliders to enhance sealing in the fire area. While Felpro offers several that will work in this series #1017, 1027, and 1037, I am using the number 1027. The differences lie in bore sizes and whether or not they work with the Gen 5 and Gen 6 heads. 1017 has stainless fire rings for iron heads only (will cause brinneling of aluminum heads) and will work, but they support larger bores up to 4.5" as I recall, and as such the width of the seal is narrower between the bores, and also this will up the CC's of each chamber. The 1027 supports a 4.37 maxiumum bore, and used dead copper wire seals...and is for Mark 4 only. This is the one I chose, even with iron heads, it works for both iron and aluminum. The third, 1037, has different sealing cutouts and printoseals around the water ports, and does fit both Mark 4 and gen 5, but the cutouts on the water transfer ports require modifying to work on the Mark 4 flow holes. They do have the smaller 4.37 standard bore support, and stainless wires. So you can choose...
For the intakes, I believe their number 1274 rect port printoseal gasket is the correct way to go. These gaskets are available at your local speed shops or through mail order outlets like Summit. Most tyical parts outlets carrie Felpros standard line of gaskets, which are still good, but these performance series are the only way to go IMHO....Craig- Top
