    C1 '58 converible attach mounts, sn 8490

How are the convertible attach mount brackets, located behind the seats on the aft bulkhead, painted? I would expect them to be painted the same color as the car's exterior (red) but mine are black, as was the convertible well (which I believe should be red to match the interior).

      Terry--
I have to respectfully disagree with the previous post. They are painted body color, but not fully or carefully. There is generally some body color on them, and usually some of the original black showing as well. When you remove them on an original car, there is usually bare fiberglass behind them. The ones farthest outboard usually have the least amount of paint.
      Hope that helps!

I"m not looking for an argument, but having say! a black Corvette with a red interior, the soft top larg plates "only" behind the seat are black and not red as the soft top lid area??

And the same with any other out side paint being different then the intreior color???

For what it's worth, my 57 follows the scheme Roy mentioned -- the plates are mostly red (matching the interior and convertible top well). Exterior is black.
