Re: Front Springs.. difference should be 2.5"

    Keith:

I've just replaced my standard shocks with Delco gas shocks. The front end seems just a bit (1-2") high as it sits with parts not yet installed (radiator, etc.) I noticed that the replacement of the shocks alone raised the car. I'm hoping it will settle.

Well, sure enough, when I checked the 63 shop manual against my 63 AIM, they are different... I guess I'd go with the AIM.

The AIM gives 3 dimension differences: design, as-shipped, and curb:

design: 1.95 inches (passengers, oil, water, full tank of gas, and recommended tire pressure) ... 25.57 inches ground to wheel cutout

as-shipped: 2.13 inches (oil, water, 2 gals of gas, and recommended tire pressure)... 25.83 inches ground to wheel cutout

curb: 2.35 inches (oil, water, full tank of gas, and recommended tire pressure)... 26.01 inches ground to wheel cutout

But, the 63 had different tires, so the distance to the wheel cutout would probably differ.
