1964 inspection marks and driveshaft stencil

According to the 64 Judging Manual, my driveshaft should have a stenciled part number. The Judging Manual doesn't mention paint rings but all the MY driveshafts I have seen have the orange and green ring, and not a stenciled part number. If they ARE supposed to have a part number stenciled on them, where is it located (I already have the stencil), and what color is the lettering? Do the half shafts on a small block 64 also have the green paint daubs on them?
On a related note, do the gas tanks on 64's usually have a part number stenciled on them?

    Thanks.

I can only tell you about my '64 which is quite original that there are no part numbers stenciled on either the gas tank or the drive shaft. David
