You must remove the spinners in the direction that the arrows indicate as 'OFF'.
Also, the repro knock offs will have a locking pin that must be removed before attempting to remove the spinners. To remove the locking pin, remove the cap on the end of the spinner (most have to be pried off with a small screwdriver), then remove the pin with needle nose pliers.
BTW, the knock offs on the right hand side of the car will/should be left hand threads (clockwise to loosen) and on the left hand side will/should be right hand threads (counterclockwise to loosen).
The spinners and their respective adaptors could have been reversed side to side, but would tend to be loosening the spinners while driving instead of tightening (a very dangerous situation).
