Re: question about hershey
I would say this is correct. You have to register to attend - either via pre-registration or at the door. Either way requires an NCRS membership number on the application, so it would seem to me you would need to be a member.
NCRS MAC has set up the following site with information on the convention:

Re: question about hershey
Clem,
At Monterey, it cost $5/day to attend for non-members. You (allegedly) couldn't then come for more than a day, but if the person at the gate didn't recognize you...

Re: Hey Clem, I'll Let Ya Use My Card...
I joined in September, and I don't have a membership card. I have a number (38594) but never got a card. Of course, the way the mail gets delivered around here it's probably at somebody else's house along with my Driveline.

Re: Hey Clem, I'll Let Ya Use My Card...
Card? What card? The only thing I've ever gotten with both my name and membership number on it is the annual renewal letter and the mailing labels on the "Driveline" and "Restorer". Am I missing something?- Top

Re: Hey Clem, I'll Let Ya Use My Card...
John,
The membership cards were not automatically sent, you had to call and request it. Don't know if the "powers that be" still send them out, or if they have been cancelled altogether. I have an old one from the early 1990's somewhere. I have not bothered to request another one since, as it was only good for that renewal period and had an expiration date. If they still send them out, this could open up a can of worms and a lot of requests for them, once members find out about it, most don't know. NCRS postage costs, might go up on this subject, may just have to raise the yearly dues. FWIW, Dave- Top

Yeah, It Says "Wire Paladin" On It
All kidding aside, apart from the many priviledges, perks, and prestige of being a real, card carrying NCRS member, I did recieve a genuine NCRS CARD, with my actual name on it, along with a true reproduction of my membership number. Every time I whip that card out of my wallet, I can rest assured that the person who beholds it will hold me in awe, as being a true Corvette expert.

Re: question about hershey
Clem,
I expect so, as it's been the case at the last few National Conventions.
Either that or you can borrow my wife's name tag for a day and be "Jan" instead of clem.

Re: question about hershey
Clem:
The NCRS MAC has me assigned to work the gate and collect the money for walk-ups. However, they have not given me any specifics yet on what that means - if you need to be registered or can attend for the day. I will send an email to one of the organizers in MAC and see if I can get an answer.- Top
