C2 question for NCRS judge - frame date

I am restoring a 67 vette for NCRS Top Flight judging. I recently bought the frame part number stencil and also a frame date stencil. I know by looking at the Nolan Adams book and by the judging manual that the 2 line frame part number stencil is placed upside-down on the passenger side, below the door to the rear. What I cannot find is where to place the date stencil.

I saw in the Nolan Adams book a "handwritten" date on the passenger side upside-down. What is that date? I did not see a stenciled date anywhere in the book.

Can you tell me where it goes on the frame?

'Exact' placement of chassis detail marks tended to 'wander' based on time of build, shift personnel, Etc. An excellent book on the subject which you can obtain from the NCRS library (STORE -- this site) is 1953-72 Corvette Chassis Restoration Guide. It's got LOTS of pictures and covers various markings in detail. But, this aspect of Corvette restoration IS more of an artform vs. exact science....

      Steve:

The handwritten date you refer to, is known as the "pull date", and signifies when the frame was pulled from inventory, prior to final build. This date is hand written in grease pencil, upside down, on the passenger side frame rail, just aft of the #1 body mount. The date is usually 1 to 3 days prior to assembly date.
