Does anyone know if you can buy just the lower support "doughnut" brackets to repair a core support. I can find the big block "U" shaped brackets or an entire lower core support piece with samll block brackets but not just the brackets. My project came with a big block core support so I thought I could just remove the big block brackets and weld on some small block brackets. Will this work out or are there other differences I'm not aware of and I'm sure it wouldn't be 100% correct this way but that's ok.

Re: '67 core support repair
Scott and John-----
The U-shaped radiator brackets were used only for cars with copper/brass radiators. This included most all big blocks (except L-88, ZL-1, and ZR-2) and 69+ small blocks with original copper/brass radiators. Small blocks with aluminum radiator and big blocks with aluminum radiator (L-88 [except THM-400], ZL-1, and ZR-2) used completely different lower brackets.
The u-shaped brackets used on small block and big block radiator supports are the same. However, the small attaching plate may be a bit different. This should present no significant problem in swapping them, though. They do need to be welded on, however. ALL Corvette LOWER radiator support brackets were welded to the radiator support. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: '67 core support repair
Yup, the Doc has both items - the replacement (weld-on) saddle brackets for the copper/brass radiator lower mounts, and the one I was referring to, the lower repair panel which includes the dual pin mount brackets for the SB aluminum radiator (his #1277200 for '63-'65, #1277202 for '66-'67).- Top
