    C1 transmission/clutch diagram

I am trying to find an exploded diagram of the transmission and clutch assembly for a 1960 3-speed. Having no luck at all. Lots of posts about clutch linkage etc, but no diagrams. I have a 1960 assembly manual and all it has is one page with the clutch release bearing...anyone have something downloadable?

Also, is there any good way to tighten the linkage where the shift rods connect to the shifter lever assembly? There is a lot of play at the point of connection, looks as thought there should be some kind of bushing around the pins to control the slack...something metal, or better yet, polyurethane-like.

    Rick -

The production design is just the rod through the hole in the lever; if the holes in your levers are worn, creating "slop", you might be able to re-fit them with "bushings" cut from a length of small-diameter tubing, although the wear pattern in the holes and rod ends is most likely elliptical. The levers are hardened, and the rods generally wear first - you may need new rods.

      Rick,

I can supply both the trans and the clutch exploded illustrations. If nobody comes through by tomorrow evening (8pm eastern) when I go to work I'll try to scan or copy them for you. Email me or I can check back here before I leave.
