C3 Fan Belts

Hello. I`m just wondering if anyone would know the difference between the belts that Quanta sells and Dr. Rebuild`s. Thanks for any information.

Here's an indirect non-answer for you. I have Quanta belts on my 72 and they passed muster on three different judgings. For everyday driving, I put on the new, high quality Gates belts.

So, Gates belts are not acceptable--------in judging? Ordered my manual for 73 it just takes a while to get here and I do not have it yet , so I have to ask.

I can't speak for 73 but the 70-72 JG says "All belts should have a GM part number molded as indentions or raised characters into the belt."

All belts are acceptable for judging. The amount they are different from factory original belts will lose you points but only four points originalty and condition are allotted to them in 1973. With four belts and five areas to judge originality you should get at least one point allowing you to get condition points.
