Yesterday I removed the starter, from my 67' small block, that has the following part number and build date: 1108367 and 0D27. I realize the starter is not factory original but would like to know its application. I believe the build date reads April 27, 1970. Also, could you recommend a person that could re-build the starter for me? Lastly, I'm also in the market for an original volatge regulator for the car, any ideas? Thanks for the help!

Re: C2-Starter
Have you tried your local phone book?
There are tradesmen in small shops that rebuild starters and electical components as a living. Most of their business is focused on larger trucks and industrial equipment, however they would probably be happy to restore an old Corvette starter. Their rebuild would be far superior to the mass produced Pep Boys starter at almost the same price.
Just ask them NOT to stamp any additional code numbers which they typically do to document their work.- Top

Re: C2-Starter
As has been mentioned, for a non-original starter repair, you will probably be quite happy with a starter/alternator repair shop from your phone book. For original parts purchase or repair, you have to see the work of the Pirkle's to believe it. They are the way to go.

Re: C2-Starter
Definately loo in your phone book for automotive electrical. I rebuilt my original myself, I just bought the new parts from a local auto electrical (starters and alternators) shop for like $20 and they even gave me a handfull of special starter grease. It works and sounds awesome.- Top
