HELLO ALL, I JUST GOT MY 65 ROADSTER PAINTED BACK TO THE ORIGINAL COLOR GLENN GREEN. A TRULY BEAUTIFUL COLOR ESPECIALLY ONE THAT IS SET OFF BY THE TAN INTERIOR. MY CONV SOFT TOP IS WHITE-I NOTICED THAT BEIGE(TAN)WAS AN OPTION AND IT CERTAINLTY WOULD BE MORE COMPLEMENTARY TO THE COLOR SCHEME. CAN I USE THE COMMON VINYL AEROSOL SPRAY DYES TO PAINT THE WHITE TOP TAN, OR SHOULD I USE A DIFFERENT MEDIUM? SHOULD I TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL, OR CAN I DO THIS MYSELF. OR, SHOULD I JUST LEAVE IT WHITE? THE SOFT TOP IS NOT THE ORIGINAL, BUT A REPLACEMENT FROM AL KNOCH. THANKS AS ALWAYS, KEITH

Re: 65 CONV TOP WHITE OR BEIGE?
Keith, if it were my car I would not try to spray the top with anything, as I can't imagine it would stay looking good for very long. Why not just get use out of the top as it is, then replace it with a tan top when it starts looking ragged.- Top

Re: 65 CONV TOP WHITE OR BEIGE?
I've seen this color combo (green with tan top) and it's striking!!! As others have suggested, it's probably not a smart move to try and change white to beige/tan with vinyl dye.
Vinyl dye is tricky to get to adhere (really need super clean surface to start with) and the odds that you'll wind up with 'blotches' and flakes (abrasion of top up/down) are pretty good. I agree with using a fresh beige/tan soft top when you're ready to spring for the cash....- Top
