hi,can someone tell me why the jackboard carpet has a small cut at the front middle on seam?(new al knoch supplied carpet that he advises was this way from factory),thanks ian

Could be a touch of authenticity.... A number of 'untouched' cars I've looked at, including one original owner '65 FI coupe, were just that way from the factory! The vinyl surround stops right at a tiny 'cut' in the carpet facing front & center on the jack board (a way for seamstress to start/stop the stitch process easily?). Shoot me an e-mail and I'll squirt you a pix. Bottom line: the factory original workmanship in this are looks messy/sloppy with vinyl ends overhanging the carpet (and jack board) by 1/2 to 1-inch....
