Correct color??

I just bought a new battery hold-down and bolts for my '61 Vette. Should they be painted gloss black? But more to the point - is there a publication available that would give me this kind of information so that I wouldn't have to bother the rest of you with such trivia????

Per the Judging Guide Page 68 - the battery retainer .. "is painted a semi-flat black". This guide is available from the NCRS store.

Just to confirm this, the retainer is simi-golss black and the J bolts, nuts, and washers are unpainted steel, correct?
