    C3 rear spring installation

Whan installing the rear spring, I remember hearing that the spring should be flexed befor torqueing the bolts. How much does the spring need to be de-arched?

    Thanks

Tom; I put the full car weight on mine before I actually tightened to torque the 4 bolts. I don't really know how much arch you could get away with, but I know of people whom didn't dearch enough and broke the housing. John

Hello, I did it recently. I installed spring with the four bolts just loose. Position is indexed by hole in the bracket. Then attached each side with care, slowly, using the CSM method. Finally I torqued the four bolts slowly and in incremental fashion. No problem.
