    Alternator

Where is the best place to get a numbers correct alternator? I have seen them in the Corvette Central catalog but they are supplied to them by someone else.
Unfortunatley mine (which is on a C2 1965)is not original and I would like to replace it with a correct in every way one. Thanks for your input in advance!

Depending on the degree of restoration you are looking for, you may just look for the front half that contains the part# and date you need and switch it with the one on yours. (There are adds in hemmings under corvette "parts and accessories" that offer just that, for around $25 for just the front half). It is easy to do and inexpensive.
