C-3 differential crossmember installation

Would anyone know if the rear crossmember on a C-3 has a front and rear or can it be installed with eather side facing foward. I reinstalled mine with the same side facing foward, but the bushings are not over the sobraros squarely. When I unbolted the housing I noticed taht the bolt holes were slightly more rearward but I think that it was removed and reinstalled in the past. Does it make a difference which way it goes in?

The crossmember in question can be installed either way; it is not directional. I don't know what the problem is with the fitment on the sombrero brackets.

The bolt pattern for the differential makes it work only one way.

Lyle -- you sure that you're not mixing the single staggered bolt hole on the bottom of the differential carrier (to ensure that the strut rod bracket can only be mounted in one direction) with the rear carrier cover, which has symetrical bolt holes for the differential cross-member and the spring mounting plate ?
