    Owner Information Center

About a week or two ago, there was a short discussion here on the NCRS forum about the possibility of having an online owner search feature similar to the Information Wanted ads in the NCRS Driveline.

I mentioned that I'd be willing to give this a shot on the Corvette Action Center web site.

This section of the Corvette Action Center has been under development for the last couple of weeks and I hopefully have stamped out the remaining bugs within the system. You can access it here: http://CorvetteActionCenter.com/infosearch

The purpose of this section is to provide Corvette owners with the resources necessary to properly document past owners and history on their Corvettes.

If you are the owner of a Corvette looking for past owners and documentation, you can use this system to place an Information Wanted Advertisement [ http://corvetteactioncenter.com/info...php?cmd=indexb ]. If you have documentation on a past Corvette that you used to own, and you wish to get in touch with the current owner of that Corvette to share that information, you can post an Available Information Advertisement [ http://corvetteactioncenter.com/info...php?cmd=indexm ].

I'm still working on the system and will be adding a sort feature as well as a different listing output to make scanning and sorting advertisements easier. Please let me know if you find any problems with the system. Any feedback provided would be appreciated. Hopefully, it will be a useful tool for someone.

    Re: Owner Information Center

So how are you supposed to post info to this section? Would like to contribute and see if I can find any past owners, but can't see how to post to this section.

    Thanks

There's a button right there on the left hand side that says "Submit a Listing!"

      Press that button.

                Hi Gene,

Yes, I saw your ad. I wasn't sure if it should be placed in the Information Wanted category or the Available Information category. Due to the nature of your ad, I suppose it could slide into either one. If you want to change it, just let me know and I can easily move it for you if you'd like.

Re: HISTORY SEARCH HELP - PLEASE PARTICIPATE

No problem Jim. I agree, it could be useful down the road as more entries are made.

Now that there are some entries in there, I see that the program is sorting them automatically by VIN. My plan is to build a summary listing chart with just the model year and VIN and a link to view the details of a particular entry rather than seeing all the details of all the entries at once. Hopefully, it won't be too difficult to code.

                      Rob,
I have quite a bit of Corvette specific documentation and will gladly post it. I tried 2 items, a 1960 and 1967. The message kept asking for a VIN number which I had correctly put in. Your idea is a great one and will likely make some of us owners happy. Any help is appreciated.

Hmmm.....I'm not sure why it kept prompting you for a VIN if you entered one. Let me know what error messages you're getting if any and I'll try to see what I can do.
