Does anyone know who repairs the plastic 66 wheels and how much? Compare fixing to buying a new one.

Re: 66 stearing wheel
Bob,
The 'Teak Freaks' from (I think) Doylestown Ohio as well as reproducing teakwood wheels, also re-furbish the plastic ones. I spoke with one of these guys at Carlisle in 2001 and he showed me examples of restored wheels and even told me how/why they started doing it. In order to get a reproduction teakwood wheel you have to supply (or buy) a plastic wheel to use the meta 'core' from. All of the plastic is removed and the teakwood is built-up on the metal core. The leftover plastic is used to repair and fill cracks in original plastic wheels (I'm not sure whether it's melted by heat or chemically softened). As I recall the price quoted was about $150; but that was a year and a half ago. I think they have a web site. Good luck!

Re: 66 stearing wheel
Bob, I used Gary's Steering Wheel Restoration in Carlisle, PA for a couple of 1966 plastic steering wheels. They both had the typical cracks at the spokes, one was in REALLY BAD shape, but came back looking excellent. I believe the cost for both was around $250 including shipping, and took about 4 weeks.
He has a website "www.dealsonwheels.com/parts/garys/". Hope this helps. Dave- Top
