1963 Steering BoX

I am trying to find out if I have the correct/original steering box in my 63. Can someone tell me what the casting numbers, dates, symbols etc. should be for a first month production 63 steering box body and the cap/lid? It would really be appreciated.

From the '63-4 Judging manual; All factory installed steering boxes are manufactured by Saginaw Steering Gear and have an "S" logo cast into the outward side of the steering box. The cover with part number 5666723 and the words "CHECK->

I just looked at my steering box as I'm in the process of rebuilding it. The cover has the numbers 566672318 and the box itself has 5677649 cast into it. The serial number of my 63 is 15099. May 63 assembly. The cover does not have "check" or "lube" cast into it.

Thanks for the info. I wonder what the last two digits (18) signifies following the casting number on on the lid. My steering box casting number is 5677645. My lid does not have a "check" or "lube on the lid either. I was just wondering if the 567764X has a significance to a certain year or a certain production numbers. The 63 judging manual does not address the steering box casting number.
