Kenneth,check with your present auto agent( if you are like me I assumed I needed a Collector's Insurance)I got quotes on all the companies mentioned so far and then when I asked my agent a few questions he said i could add my 67 to the policy I already had.I was surprised.It was $20-30 more than the quotes I had but no restrictions (milage,left alone etc) and it is insured at the appraised value.

That is what I did as well. I have an Agreed Value policy with Atlantic Mutual. They also have my homes, other autos and I have an umbrella policy with them. The cost was about the same as Hagerty's and American but there are no restrictions for the operation of the vehicle.

Mark, I asked my American collectors agent since i have this insurance and here is what they said. "there is no claim that would go unpaid because
of a policyholder not being in "attendance." That is misleading, and
inaccurate." I feel better knowing that i can leave my car out when dinning or just takeing my car to work occasionaly and still being covered. Thanks Eric

Better check the POLICY language carefully - the policy is the legal contract that describes the insurer's liability in the event of a loss, and if you don't have a deviation from the policy language in writing, you're at their mercy; I wouldn't want to find out after a loss that I was in violation of the policy restrictions as written. Get it in writing.
