I found a dual window NOS cap at a parts store the other day and quickly bought it hoping it would work on my 62 fuelie. They wrote on the box D-441 cap and I dont have the part number with me. Any ideas what this fits? It says Delco Remy Patent Pending and has no R on it. Seems like it should do the trick but wanted to know if there were any distinctions between this and a D-324. How many different dual window caps did GM make?
D-411 was the Delco service part number for the distributor rotor for a Corvair, so it's safe to say your cap has little or no relationship to the number on the box
Todd,
I'll give it a try in words. Clock would mean where the doors are located relative to a clock as you look at the top of the cap. You would reference the starting point by aligning the two lock down posts to 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock for instance. Then locate the two doors to a relative time of day. If the D-424 matches the D-441 than the clocks would be the same. I hope I'm not further confusing you.
