Doing frame off on my 64, and starting to put parts back. The car had little insulation on inside firewall(mice). I'm wondering about when this material was installed? After or before-heater box-wiper motor-brake clutch braket-fuse box-ect? Thanks Steve

Re: 64 Firewall insulation
Thanks for the reply Harry.I've got the car totaly stripped. There's nothing on the firewall. So does both the top and bottom insulation go on the bare firewall first? It'll probley be easy to figure out when I get the insulation, but have'nt ordered yet. Guys seem to be having trouble getting it,so I did'nt want to bolt on things under dash and then have to remove.- Top

Re: 64 Firewall insulation
Steve,
Yes .......... it is the very first thing secured to the firewall. I recently acquired one for a 68 from Dr. Rebuild. I know of a person who usually can find anything that you need if you have trouble finding it. eMail if you want the connection.

Re: 64 Firewall insulation
Steve,
I got mine from LICS for a 65. It fits pretty well and like you I had everything out of the car so installation on the drivers side was very easy. I have not yet done the center/right side section, but it sure looks like I need to remove the wiper motor to do it properly. That is about the only thing left in there so maybe this weekend it too will get finished.

Re: 64 Firewall insulation
In January I called several vendors including Dr. Rebuild and Corvette Central looking for one for a 68. They all said they were back ordered, so I placed an order with C.C. and was given an expected date of Feb. 19th. Last week I called to check and was told May 15th. If anyone knows where to find one, I would like to here from you. Thanks Scott- Top
