    Don,

I don't there is a obvious source. I've been looking for NOS headbolts for the future rebuild of my '66 L79 and I've managed to find 6 NOS examples of the short bolts, but none of the long ones. If you do track down a source could you let me know if they have extras to sell?

      Gary:
Of course. However, what you've told me must mean that this task of locating complete sets of bolts will be much more difficult than I ever expected! I will continue to search, but now the idea of finding really good used GM bolts is more important than it was earlier. One thing, the fact that you've found the short bolts is important since they are externally visible - the longer ones are not, of course. Therefore, it would be fine by me to use some after-market bolts internally and the NOS short ones externally. As you can tell, I'm not a 'purist', but instead, a 'pragmatist'. BTW, what's you source for the short bolts???

        Don,

To be honest, I can't recall where I got the 6 NOS headbolts. I'm certain I found them somewhere via the internet. It could have been e-bay. I've bought so many new and NOS parts for the restoration of my '66, and I'm not very good at keeping such records nor of knowing what part I've stored where in the house. Send me an e-mail so that I have your e-mail address and if I find more headbolts, I'll let you know. I still need 10 more myself.

          Gary:

Okay. Seems it will be an uphill grind to go completely NOS. I visited a few Chevy oriented sites last night and left my request, but haven't heard anything in response yet. I would think that there would be many complete kits available since so many SBCs were built of many years... it's the locating part that's a challenge. I've even checked with local Chevy dealers to no avail. My e-mail address is: mr_90zr1@yahoo.com

              Roy:
Thanks for suggestion, but visits to Ralph Roberts Classic Chevy, Classic Chevy International and Chevy World haven't turned up anything about NOS headbolt kits. I'm still looking, however.
