My original L brackets have both black paint and rust. Can anyone confirm whether the L brackets were dipped black or bare steel with chassis blackout paint? I did see on each rear brake cable a splash of chassis blackout paint.
Thanks,
Ron
Most of the St. Louis-installed small bracketry on the engine and chassis was dip-primed black before it was installed; I can't say for certain, but if it was my car, I'd paint them medium-gloss black. The chassis blackout operation was done with the chassis right-side-up and varied a lot, but I don't think NCRS has yet recognized the existence of the chassis blackout operation, which obliterated most of the markings/stencils judges look for.
