My wife is now a C3 Corvette owner, 1979 L48 automatic. This car is for cruising. I'd like to change the radiator to improve cooling (I believe it's still original) . I thought an L82 radiator would increase my cooling capacity. Found one, by phone with the following information, GM part # 03035856, code: ML, 1 1/2 inch inlet. Is this correct? Do I need to change anything else to make it fit with my L48?

Re: C3 radiator part number
Gordon,
The stock L48 radiator works just fine and is more than adequate. If you are having genuine overheating problems, best try to track down the actual source of the problem and not cover it up (possibly unsucessfully) with substitution of components.- Top

Re: C3 radiator part number
Gordon----
GM #3035856 is the HD radiator used for L-82s. It is generally a "bolt-in" installation for your 79 L-48. However, the L-48 and L-82 radiator shrouds for 1979 were different. I think that you can use the L-48 shroud with the HD radiator, but I'm not certain of that. So, beware of that possible "complication".In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
