    Re: Spark Plugs!

Thank you! I am learning alot. What do you think is the best plug for a 1966 BB with T.I. for street use?

The TI has a lot more ignition energy than the single point, so it will blow a spark on a fouled plug that would make a single point choke and backfire. I'd say the OEM heat range plug is probably a good choice. You can either use ACs or cross reference the OEM plug to other manufacturers at a parts store that has manufacturer's catalogs with cross reference charts.

If you drive the car easy, one heat range hotter than OEM is probably okay.

Since I don't have any hands on experience with mid-sixties big blocks, I'm not qualified to give more specific advice that this, but maybe some owners of mid-sixties big blocks can give you some specific recommendations based on experience.

AC R45XLS gapped at .035 will work the best for street driving and with a BBC always take the RPM up slowly using part throttle after a lot of town driving to burn off any deposits on the plug because if you just floor it the quick rise in temperature will bake the deposits on the plugs.
