Muffler coloring for 73?

Hi, I was looking at a 99.9 NCRS TF CAR-1972. I noticed the muffler's were not blacked out, showing just the bare galvanized wrap. My NCRS JG says they are blacked out- to be correct. Now that was a 72 and mine is a 73, should I black mine out, or is this a no point deduct?

1973 Corvette mufflers were very different than the 68-72 style. However, the 73 mufflers were blacked out just about like the earlier. The color was a semi-flat black.

I have a late 73 BB (July) that has the original exhaust, I bought it with 9,600 miles.

The mufflers were not blacked out. Did they stop this at some point?

Well, you have read the above I'm sure. My car is a mid June build, I am eager to read a reply to your question. Just the same I am going ahead with the black-out as described in my JG. Thanks Joe AND Gary.
