Im looking at a 1969 conv. The exterior is monza red and the interior is red leather. The car has very recently been completely restored. The interior red leather has a distinctive different shade than the exterior. The leather matches the door trim , carpet ,dash, and center console. It looks more red than the exterior which is more of a orange/red. I guess you could say that the interior is actually a bit darker, not as bright. My question, is this correct?? Did they look like that coming out of the factory in 1969 ?? Any help would be appreciated. Thank You, Mike Chase

Re: 1969 interior color vs exterior color
The bright orange for 69 is MONACO orange , not MONZA red.Monza is a very bright red. It could apear a bit orange. You better ask if the colors have been changed or are not original to the car. Check the trim tag to see if its been replaced.- Top

Re: 1969 interior color vs exterior color
974 is Monza Red ; Monaco Orange is 990 which was available with blk interior as the only suggested GM color choice.
The interior code for red is 408 R/L or 407 R/V. Hope this helps. Also check this web site for visual reference. www.autocolorlibrary.com- Top
