'63 center console question

Would an early '63 coupe(S102802) have the smooth or ribbed center console? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Jack; If you are speaking about the anodized center console, where the gear shift lever comes through, all are the same ribbed design..3 speed, 4 speed, or automatic. If you are speaking about the center area around the radio, early cars like yours (up to SN 3200) have a smooth, painted center section. It is a satin finish, not gloss or flat, and is color coordinated to the interior color of your car. It should not be vinyl covered like the dash pads. Your very early 63 also would not use a bezel around the radio. Hope this helps. Chuck Gongloff
