I have a upper front windshield and one of by rear windshield leaks in my '63 (I know, it is Vette). I removed the side trim front pillar pieces and found that the bedding was dried up exposing a gap around the gasket. Rather than have the windshields pulled and replace the gaskets, I wanted to try taking out and replacing the bedding material. I would leave removal of the windshields to a pro but how about simply removing the trim and replacing the exterior layer of the bedding material?
Is it simply a matter of getting the proper tool and carefully removing the exterior trim? Any trick ot taking our or putting back? Where can I get something to replace the bedding material?
Is this a reasonable solution for a summer driver?
Thanks for your response.
