1961 Choke Housing

Can anyone suggest a source for a choke housing, part #170583, used on a 3059S
WCFB Carter carb? One of the three "ears" that accepts the screws to hold the assembly together is broken. I also need the piston. I hope I don't have to buy a complete rebuilt WCFB to get what I need. I checked all the catalog houses but none are listed for a 1961.

The choke housing assembly that you need is GM #3759936. The piston is GM #1172253. Of course, both are long-since GM discontinued. Parts like these are probably best obtained by stripping them from an otherwise junk carburetor. The problem is that there were an awful lot of different choke housings and pistons used on these carbs over the years, so you have to find a carb of the same part number as yours to be sure you'll get the right parts.

Thanks for the info. I will try a local junk yard. The man says he has a lot of old Carter four-barrel carbs. If I strike out there I will call your buddy. I notice that he has a Minnesota area code so he is in my state.
