71 Wiper Door height adjustment question.

I've never owned or worked on the wiper doors of the 68-72 cars. Now I own a 71 and the wiper doors height is a little higher (1/4 inch) than being flush with the fender line. There are four or six screws holding the vented portion of the door on so I can easily get that part off. How do I make the adjustment to the height of the doors assembly. The bottom line.....I want the wiper doors assembly to be flush with fenders (both sides). I have an assembly manual but the picture isn't very detailed. Any "how to" assistance will be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

Get yourself a copy of the '71 Chassis Service Manual (CSM)! You'll find most of the 'care & feeding' questions are addressed there + there's a section dedicated to the Corvette body (only Chevy that was NOT Body by Fisher). This is an invaluable addition to your support library for 'baby'....

You'll find a section on the wiper door that tells you what and where the adjustments are for open/closed. The open adjustment is on the vac actuator motor hidden by the accordian dust shield (RH firewall) consisting of a swivel based, hex coupler the connecting rods screw into. Proceedure(s) for getting the linkage 'right' are discussed in the CSM.

Adjustments for wiper door closed position are two tiny and hard to reach screws at the outer edges of the wiper door. There are lock nuts on these screws to hold final adjust position and the heads of the screws impact 'pads' on the bottom outside positions of the windshield frame (just below and adjacent to the windshield glass).
