I have dissambled and re-built the handbrake mechanism on my 67' L79 and I'm in the process of re-mounting it back in the car and something dosen't seem to fit right!! (should have made more notes) The cable that comes through the fiberglass and attaches to the handle assembly has a rounded "T" shaped termination knob on the end. The cable fits into a slotted bracket just under the handle. The cable slides into the slot but the shoulder on the "T" shaped cable end knob, dosen't seem to fit into the slot? This doesen't seem to be right and I can't remember if it should slide all the way into the bracket or if this approximately 3/8" long "T" shaped cable end should hang out the end and not slip into the bracket?? Seem odd?? Hopefully someone remembers this assembly detail?? Appreciate some help!! Mike Arteaga#34566
