I have an original 65 grille which is in good condition except for the outer chrome, can this be rechromed without effecting the black horizontal bar's inside, also who would you recommend to do the rechroming. Thanks in advance Floyd

Hi Floyd,
Yes, your '65 grill can be restored, but it's a job. The outer surround you refer to is "bright Anodized", not chrome. You will have to dissemble the grill, work out the sand & gravel pits using verious grades of sandpaper, then find a plater who can anodize the proper color. You need to send him the center section also so it can be "black anodized". When this is done, you can rivit the grill back togeather and it will look as good as new. Rivets are available from Long Island. Good luck. Bill -

Bill Thanks for the information about the grille, I wasn't sure whether the surround was chrome or anodize and if it could be restored. If it could not be restored, I was just going to paint it and use it that way rather than pay the price of a new one. Now with your information, I know it can be restored. Thanks again FloydComment
