    Delco/Chevy p/n cross-reference?

    Gentlemen,
Could someone please tell me if there is an available source for a cross-reference of the Delco part numbers to the 7 digit Chevy part numbers?

My original Chevy parts books have very few of the Delco "D" numbers, such as D-626 or D-1119. On the other hand, my Delco parts books do not generally list the corresponding 7 digit Chevy part numbers.
(I'm interested in the '50s and '60s time frame)

    thanks
    Verne

Where can you get a Delco parts book for the 50s and 60s?

Verne, I have a couple of cross reference books from Delco circa 1980, if you only need one or two parts, please email me. Please remembr that a "Delco" part of today is neither manufactured by the original facility, nor conforms to the appearance of the original.

            Re: Delco/Chevy p/n cross-reference?

Bill, Thanks, but it's not that I'm looking for a "couple" parts. My literature collection is fairly vast but I run into problems with my research efforts without a cross-reference. I'm also aware that parts made today probably aren't like the originals. I'm also quite aware that there are often conflicts in applications listings depending on the "source", so for example if one source says a part should be D-626 and another source says it should be 3725478, I'd like to know whether the two sources agree with each other or not. (in other words, are they talking about the same part?)
Just wondering if that cross-reference source might be currently available, or if there ever was one, what should I be looking for at swap meets (or ebay).
            Verne.

Not always will it be the same part, the "short number" may replace several "long numbers" and be sold as a functional replacement. Often both part numbers (short and long) appear on the box, and in that case the part in the box is the part number on the box.
