    Mis-print in 68-69 3rd edition TIM&JG?

In the new 3rd edition TIM&JG for 68-69 there appears to be a mis-print in the radiator hose application table on page 65. According to this table, my car (427 HD w/auto) should have an upper hose #3947868 (last row in the table). After searching every catalog I have for an upper hose with this number without success, I happened to notice it listed as a lower hose in several catalogs. Also, I found that same number is listed as the correct lower hose in the '427' line of the table (3 lines above my listing).

Does anybody know what the correct # for an upper radiator hose is for a '69 L88 w/ automatic? Having a separate line in the application table implies that it was different from the upper hose on a 4 speed L88.

    Thanks,
    Jon #10673

    John------

1969 L-88s with THM-400 used the same radiator as other 1969 427s with THM-400 (GM #3019190) and the same radiator hoses radiator hoses as all 427s except L-88/ZL-1 with manual tranmission. The upper hose was originally GM #3947867 (early) and GM #3967433 (late). The lower hose was GM #3947868 throughout 1969.

Since I don't think that any L-88s with THM-400 were built early in the model year, I expect that your car was originally equipped with the 3967433 upper hose.

Which is the hose I have on the car now (and you are correct, it is a late '69 car). Perfect. Thanks for the quick response, Joe.

Should I forwad this to anyone for correction in the TIM&JG?

      Thanks again,
