Does anyone know of a good source for palting door hinges, hood hinges, etc? Someone who knows what type of finish is required on each piece. Thanks, Joe DeLuca #37862

You are probably going to have a hard time finding anyone who will take responsibility for making the call an how to plate parts. Most are just going to plate them to your instructions.
The problem is that there is not general agreement on the appearance of some of these parts! Many different judges have differing opnions on how this hardware should appear. At my last judging, I had a judge tell me that the male hood latches on my 60 should show no blackout since the painter put a can over each latch to keep it clean. This is after being told by many judges that the male and female latches were both blacked-out complete. It just all depends on who you draw for a judge on a given day!
