    Folding Top Rear Deck

I have been told that the hardwear on the underside of the folding top deck is supposed to be natural. Mine has flat black paint on it along with the entire deck underside. The Tech manual states that this is supposed to be body color, which is evident. However, the release latch, also painted flat black, shows clean metal when moved to the fully open position( as in releasong the latch).
The Tech manual also says this hardwear is painted body color.
I naturally tend to believe this, but would like confirmation, since my latch does not show any body color (green).
Thanks to all who answered my last question, This is an amazing medium.

    Dave...

Have no clue about your question, but did we go to high school together?

      Dennis,
Yes we did, same dorm. Also, ran into each other at the Copper Mt meet in 1984, and at Scottsdale in 2000 for the final Judson party before it was sold.
I had several (3) '63's and a ''65 in the 1970's, but haven't had one for several years. Decided to get back into the hobby this year with a '65.
May call on you from time to time if you don't mind. There aren't too many restorer-types in Tucson that I can find, and Phoenix is a little far to go for evening meetings. Would like to get involved in NCRS activities.

the convertible top deck lid hardware (the lever, cables and deck lid latches) were already installed when the car was painted and are body color.

Gary, Many thanks. I assume that holds true for the latches also.
