Restoration Package

To All:

Someone recently posted a link to the Corvette Action Center web site. While looking through the site, I found a page that described a free restoration package that is available from GM. Being new here and not knowing about this service, I thought there was a chance others might not know about it.

We called the number indicated and were asked for our VIN. They do not have specific records going back as far as our vehicle, which is a 1961, however they did send us an information package.

The package we received contained photo copies of a manual called Chevrolet 1961 Corvette Specifications. This contained 27 pages of information and included production numbers information, facts, options, original pricing, dimensions, colors, general data, chassis info, engine info, cast numbers, and AMA specifications.

The second package contained information from the Hobby & Sales group and included some information on storage and care, ads, clubs & museums, a list of GM Restoration Parts dealers and a list of parts dealers for older GM vehicles.

If you have not received this package it is worth a phone call.

What telephone number did you call? I recently called the number on the Corvette Action Center site. The person at GM that I spoke with had no clue what I was talking about. She did not know anything about a restoration package.

To the best of my knowledge, the phone numbers listed on our page for the Restoration kit is correct. I received an email approximately 4 months ago from someone at GM giving me those numbers and the details on the Restoration package. If anyone find out that those numbers or information is outdated or incorrect, please let me know so that I can correct the page.

Tat number is correct. My wife was the one that called and she had no problem. As a matter of fact, the women she called was happy to hear that we were restoring the car.

It will take about a week to receive the package. The spec section as a lot of usefull information all in one place.

Thanks for the info, the number you posted was correct for me. I was on the phone 5 min to a female that knew everything about it. Got my FREE Restoration package yesterday. Not only free but the big brown truck brought it. I think Jarrett.

Yeah, it's pretty good.

Got mine too, and they were really nice about it, amazing.

Wish my dealer was as good to deal with.
