    Judging ? P/N

Are points deducted when the part number and date code are not completely readable? I have rebuilt the horn and after sandblasting parts of the numbers/letter are not readable, not readable before because of the paint. The P/N is 9000032, but the 3 is not readable, could be a 3,5 or 8. The date code is horn P/N 3A3, but the A is not readable.

    Re: Judging ? P/N

Roger When judging a car if a number can't be read it does't deduct any points. The only exception I would make, if I knew the owner had purposely covered the number in some way. Along the same line I have judged car where I suspected the tire was reproduction and looked for the DOT on inside of the sidewall. In most cases you'll find where the mark was on the very top of the tire on the inside. The other option you have is find some metal stamps the same size and restamp it to make it more readable. You would not have to hit it much to accomplish this.
