C2 differential codes

Hi Guys, I recently looked at an Oct '63 build '64 and the code on the diff case was AN 5 31 63. The turns check verified the actual ratio as 3.55 & posi which matches the AN ( it's a small block) but I have that code as being for '66 not '63. Can't be sure if the diff is the original case since a lot had been changed over the years and it even had a big block in it at one time. Any ideas anyone?

Tony, the book I'm looking at indicates that code "AN" was used on small block 3.55 positraction applications in 1965 thru 1969 inclusive. I suggest another close check of the stamping to clarify the "63".

Hi Henry-Thanks for the verification of AN thru '69. I thought maybe that could be the case but I only have codes for the C2's. I'd bet it's a '68, not a '63 even though I was right under it and cleaned it very well.
