My 65 has a 1816 bulb that the shield fits well. The book calls for a 1893. Don H.

Thanks for your response. I will look into those two bulbs and see if they fit the shield.

I believe you need to consult page 46 of the least read book in the automotive world, the owners manual.

I do appreciate your response.

As I stated in my first post, I did look in my Owners Guide (manual?) On page 46 there is a list of the fuses to use but, on page 47 there is a list of bulbs that are used. This list does not include the glove box bulb. Was the glove box called something else? I thought that it could be part of the instrument panel bulbs, the courtesy bulbs or the dome lamp but, I did not want to assume, I was hoping to use the correct bulb. I thought that the list would have included a glove box bulb. But, since it didn't then maybe it is included as part of one of the others.

So, Bill, if your owners manual states the correct bulb to use, could you please tell me what it is?

Second edition owners guide, shipped with S/N 12088, Page 47, bottoem of LH column, Glove box, 1893 Bulb. I can't say what infor is carried in first edition or later editions.

Now that we have the correct bulb, and the correct sheild, which way should the sheild be installed? Should it be oriented to shield the light from glaring down into the glove box, or to prevent the light from shining up towards the top of the box??

The shield should allow the light to illuminate the interior of the glove box.

The shield has one purpose.....

to "Sheild" the light from the drivers eyes.
