After Body Drop

I have completed the body drop and aligned front and rear wheels. The body seems to be riding higher that it did before the removal. I still need to install the bumpers, convertible top, interior and other minor items. I am currently rubbing out the lacquer and will install finial items after completion. Also, there is no fuel in the tank. I plan on having the wheel alignment rechecked after I have driven the 65 for a few miles. The springs are original, but I did install new shocks, bushings and rear spring liners. How much should I expect the body to drop after total completion and driving the car for a few miles?

Your body will definitely drop as you add weight sprung weight to the car. Bumpers, seats tanks and the like will add significant weight.

Additionally, you will need to realign the front and rear, once everything has been assembled and shaken down a bit.

You also don't want to torque up any of the control arm, trailing arm, or strut rod bushing bolts until the full weight of the car is on the wheels; otherwise they will be "wound up" in torsion and the car won't be at design ride height.

John, I tightened all suspension components after body drop, not before. I have not driven the car, just transported to my shop. Should I loosen these components, install all remaining parts and then tighten the suspension components.

I am getting close!
